Karti tal-Euro

TAGĦRIF ĠENERALI

TAGĦRIF ĠENERALI

Il-karti u l-muniti tal-euro daħlu fl-1 ta' Jannar 2002 u saru simbolu tanġibbli tal-integrazzjoni Ewropea. Jintużaw kuljum f'19-il pajjiż tal-Unjoni Ewropea u jgħinu biex iħaffu l-kummerċ u l-ivvjaġġar. Il-ħlasijiet bi flus kontanti issa qegħdin isiru bl-istess munita minn 338 miljun ruħ.

L-evoluzzjoni ta’ flusna

It-Trattat ta' Maastricht tal-1992 wassal għat-twaqqif tal-Unjoni Ewropea u l-munita unika tagħha, l-euro. Wara snin ta' ppjanar u tħejjijiet, il-karti u l-muniti tal-euro daħlu fi 12-il Stat Membru tal-Unjoni Ewropea fl-1 ta' Jannar 2002. S'issa 19-il pajjiż tal-Unjoni Ewropea adottaw l-euro.

Il-pajjiżi kollha tal-Unjoni Ewropea, minbarra d-Danimarka u r-Renju Unit li għażlu li jibqgħu barra, huma mistennija jissieħbu fl-unjoni monetarja u jintroduċu l-euro hekk kif jissodisfaw il-kriterji tal-konverġenza.

Id-dħul tas-sensiela Europa fl-2013 huwa parti mill-iżvilupp kontinwu tal-karti tal-euro. Is-sensiela Europa tinkorpora karatteristiċi ta' sigurtà avvanzati li jiżguraw li l-euro jibqa' mezz fdat ta' ħlas.
